6.Marking ISPM # 15 & Fumigation for Quarantine Inspection Need
Cause we have a Wooden packaging as one of all packaging products we make, we have joint operational; to mark and fumigate this wooden package and commodity as regulated by ISPM # 15 and AQIS/ AFASID/ BARANTAN regulation consist of Heat Treatment and Fumigation.
Below are the requirement of ISPM # 15 regulation for wooden packaging :
a.Free of Fungi
b.Free Pest or living Insects
c.Free of Pinholes of Pest or living Insect more than 3 mm
d.Free of Bark
e.Clean, dried based on treatment used.
f.New, Good, Strong and no Broken wood
g.Made from many kinds of wood and legal
There are two kind of treatment for wooden packaging as regulated shown below :
-Heat Treatment
Our wood packaging material heated in accordance with a specific time – temperature schedule that achieve wood core temperature of 560C for a minimum of 30 minutes constant.
-Fumigation AQIS / BARANTAN
Our Wooden packaging fumigated by using methyl bromide ( CH3Br) as shown below :

Fumigation is done with exposure time of 24 hours and temperature not less than 100C with monitoring of concentration at a minimum at 2, 4, 24 hours. It is finished and succeed if the concentration of Gas Clearance is below 5 ppm. Fumigation we do as BARANTAN or AQIS or AFASID regulation standard. AQIS Fumigation is Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service regulation, its is adopted by Indonesian Government and called as AFASID regulation
International Quarantine Standard ISPM # 15 is a regulation released by FAO through International Plant Protection Convention in 2002. It is a regulation for Wood Packaging Material used in International Trade such as Pallet, Dunnage, crates, packing block, drums, cases, load boards, pallet collars and skids. It is regulated to prevent the infestation of Pest or living insects from one country to another country or from one region to another region. Beside that, it is preventing an unilateral regulation between Trade Country. Some of pest or living insect that must be prevented are Anobiidae, Bostrichidae, buprestidae, cerambycidae, curculionidae, Isoptera, lictidae, Oedemeridae, Scolytidae, Siricidae and Nematodes.
As ISPM # 15 Regulation, we have two kinds of Treatment for all our products such as : Heat treatment and Fumigation. Fumigation we do as BARANTAN or AQIS or AFASID regulation standard.
